Catch up!

Dear Friends and Family,

Great news!!! I'm bored enough, and have gotten into the spirit of blogging, which by the way is very self gratifying... Anyway I'm going to take some time to fill in the the patches and holes of my life that no one really knows about, so yay for you!!!

Anyway! I was born in Salt Lake City, and so that is where I grew up, well until I was eight anyway. When I was eight we traveled to Oregon, my family and I; we went to my great grandfathers funeral. On the trip home, we hit black ice in Portland, Oregon. My father who was driving, Sosaia Hopoate, was thrown from the car due to lack of wearing a seat belt after having rolled through a ditch and thereafter for a length of about one hundred yards.

Although there is much to tell about the kind of father I had, and still have watching over me, I most long to share of my life with him as my guardian angel. After my father passed away, my family moved to Harrisville, UT. While in Harrisville, I grew to most of the young man that I hope to be today. My mother remained single for eight years and provided for my family with the happiest and humblest heart I know still.

While growing up, I learned first hand the blessings of service, and I learned of the love of our Heavenly Father. I learned the importance of most every gospel principle, because of the love that my mother had for her Savior, and Heavenly Father.

I'm not very smooth with the whole relating pictures to my story/blog :( HOWEVER ! :) I do know how to put in pictures!!! Here are some of the many things we did!!!!

This happens to be our Yellowstone/Jackson Hole trip! When I was fourteen this was our big family vacation. We went hard core road tripping which none of us had really done before! While we were contemplating what kind of road trip we would take, we all concurred when it came down to our Yellowstone/ Jackson Hole trip, because everyone of us loves the outdoors! Who couldn't love the outdoors, this earth is SO beautiful, and we all think these beauties represent a heaven on earth!!!

This is one of the waterfalls we hiked into. First we were actually rode a ferry across a lake, I don't know which one exactly but it was kinda fun! From right to left my family: Ezra-7 -Mom- 24 :)-Nathan-10- and me-14!

Next, Mom taught us that education is one of the most important things that you come to this earth to gain. She always said, "Malachi, you can't take your bike, you can't take your candy, and you can't take your football to the celestial kingdom, but you can take, your family, your testimony, and your knowledge," or something along those lines. :) One thing that mom never failed to do, was lead, teach, and love by example.

This showed all of us dressed up all spiffy and sharp. Mom actually received the "Woman of the Year Award," from Weber State University, the same year she graduated with her bachelors, and was excepted into BYU as a graduate student to finish her schooling with a PhD in BioChemistry! Mom has never paid a cent out of her own pocket for schooling, she's had a scholarship, grant, or stipend, for as long as she's been in school. If you couldn't tell by now, I love my mom... and she's pretty awesome!

Here are a few pictures of my wonderful adventures!

This is one of the many fishing trips with my Uncle Robert. I don't remember how old I was in this picture, but I believe Nathan caught every one of those fish... Way traumatizing for me, and he just keeps on grinnin'.

This is a picture of me and my cousins, at my Grandmother's 50th Birthday. From right to left: Me, Ezra, Nathan, Meldon. Meldon is from my dad's part of the family, my dads sister is Meldon's mom. Meldon is serving a mission in Samoa right now, and he's my favorite cousin :)

In the December of 2006 My mother remarried. These are some pictures of my new brothers and I. You'll have to mind our camera faces... I'm afraid some may not be as... bright as others... :)

Well that's it for now!!! Love you all and more to come!!!

I hope my kids can say that kind of stuff about me someday. Your mom seriously sounds like a renaissance woman- doing EVERYTHING. So you have 5 brothers living with you now? Or are your half-brothers living with their mom? Awesome pictures, awesome post:)
